Car & Health Insurance?
Posted on Mar 09, 2008 under Insurance Information |How pathetic of a country are we, that car insurance is mandatory, even criminal if we don't have it, yet health insurance is not? What does this say about us as a society?
Mary Jo, I guess what I'm trying to say, is that not enough people make enough money to afford both. They can find jobs, but none that carry health insurance. But for them to go to work, they have to pay car insurance.
That we as a society demand our vehicles have insurance instead of ourselves and our families, this is what I'm questioning for us as a country.

What is says is that the health insurance industry is a racket and most people cannot afford it….making it mandatory won't change anything. If one can't afford it, that's it.
When the national health insurance system is in place, it will be affordable to all as the premiums will be income-based.

Sounds to me like a lot of people who didn't study in school and better their career so they could afford both. I wish people would take responsibility for their own positions in life.

I am 55 and this past year is the first year I have ever had health insurance available to me at a job I worked at. Even with that, I went without my blood pressure meds for two months because it was the new year, deductibles started over, my doctor had moved, so now it was a new patient charge on top of the cost of the meds on top of heating bills that doubled in Nov. and Dec. I have had one heart attack and a serious heart arythmia that had me in intensive care a second time. But I literally could not afford to go to the doctor and get my meds. They can tell you how badly you need to stay on the regularly, but they can't tell you how to pay for them AND keep the electric on so they don't take away your mentally challenged daughter, age 27, for not providing heat. What is wrong with this picture??? I have worked all my life, two jobs for the last 3 1/2 years, done without a lot, and still can't get my hormone replacement medicine because I have to have a mammogram first here before they will give the the hormone replacement. Like I can afford that!! Meanwhile, I have had two major bone breaks in the last 10 years and the whole reason they put me on them after my hysterectomy was to not just get over hot flashes, but to help protect my bones. I am not whining, you asked and I answered.

1.Regarding car Insurance it is benificial if any accident or any minor mistakes occurs the policy takes care and certain laid % is paid ex: 70% they pay and the car owner pays the rest.When we have to pay the insurance in the next year depreciation not taken .ie we need to pay what was paid in the previous year.
When the car is ok then only reduction is considered.
2.Life insurance is not considered, unless the person working and earning is considered,That too over a period of say a fixed number of years is considered to pay premium every year.That too when the person gets retired no insurance considered.Ony if the oarson dies then only the next of kin gets the amount.This is what is happening in India.
No money is given even if he is suffering from any disease.

The reason car insurance is mandatory isn't to protect you, it's to ensure that when you crash into someone, their property and well being will be taken care of. Don't you see the difference???????????
