It was only a small fender bender, I had ran into a girl, i only hit her bumper, there is only a scratch. My car has a broken cornering light and dent in the fender. I have a Ford Ranger and she also has a Ford Ranger. I got a ticket for following to close. What can i do? for the insuance and ticket?
I am marked as an occasional driver, and i have(had) steer clear, my car insurance was only $50 a month
nobody was hurt in the accident, the cops that came said that her bumper was worth $200 and my fender and cornering light was $1000
When I called her father to see if i could personally pay for the charges of the bumper, he said yes we could work something out. But he had already talked to his insurance agent and we both have state farm

well you are looking at points for the accident and for the ticket. since the happened at the same time, most compnaies will charge for which ever holds the most points. since i dont know how your state assigns points, its ahrd to tell, but a good guess would be an increase of about 20%.

Once you call State Farm, it automatically goes on your CLUE report. This will show the world you had an at-fault acc and it propbably will increase your costs 10%. No charge for the following too close.

It will depend on how much of an accident free discount is on the vehicle you were driving. You will lose the Steer Clear, so it will go up that much. And, then depending on how much of an accident free discount is on there, it will go up 0 to 10%(can vary by state, so may be 20%).Ask your agent - while they definitely can tell you exactly, they can tell you how much the Steer Clear is worth and what, if any, accident free discount is on there.
