He owes me 40000.00 and his lifestyle , something may happen to him and i have no way of getting my money.. he doesn't have any life ins .. he is self employed carpenter and he is living a fast lifestyle and has leined everything he owns on a equity mortage on his company..

You can buy life insurance on me if you want to. The problem would be in collecting. You would have to show that you have an insurable interest in receiving it.

You can get a life insurance policy on ANYONE that you have a social security number for. You do not need their permission. However, the way you say "something may happen" I would suggest that if you really believe THAT, you do not get one. As you will look guilty!!!!!

You have to have a insurable interest in someone 1st. You just cant take a policy on anyone. And if you was to get one, which I doubt and ANYTHING happend to this person, you had betetr have a damn good lawers card in your pocket and have him/her on retainer.

That would be the first BIG red flag. Why would you want a life insurance policy on him if you are separated? Guess what? If something now happens to him, guess who they will investigate first? Yep, you! And now this is on record with Yahoo that you even wrote about it and this will be a red flag to the investigators. Even if you delete and delete and delete….it is now on record what you wrote. Even if you were to have someone else get rid of him, you are the wife, and they will surely check everything with you out as well! \
But to answer your question…..you would have to forge his name and they can find that out as well and then you would have other charges as well. Not a good idea. How does he owe you when you are his wife? Don't understand! Greed will ruin you!

You may fool him into signing the policy if not you are out of luck.

if it is possible to get a life insurance policy on someone else without their consent, then i don't think it should be, I regard that as thoroughly unethical. if it legal, then i consider it to be absolutely preposterous.

The answer is no and its illegal in all the states. In order to get life insurance on your ex-husband, he must consent to it and sign the life insurance application. There also must be insurable interest between you and ex-husband. In this case, the insurance company is very likely not going to approve the life insurance application because if he dies, what affect would he have on you emotionally and financially?
If you really want money from him, you would settle that in court.
