car insurance web sites?
Posted on Mar 17, 2008 under Insurance Information |Can any one tell me why it is that when I enter my details on confused.com I get a quote for lets say £200 from post office web site and if I enter the same details on moneysupermarket.com it comes up with £267 but if I go to the web site direct I get a quote for over £300. it must be cheaper to get direct other than going through a search engine. has anyone else noticed this? would I get a better deal by paying more at the main web site or would it be the same cover with the search site.
all three amounts were done within 10 mins and all quotes from the post office. I just don't know why three different sites would give different amounts it should be the same.

I am in the US, and I will say this, each and every company sets auto insurance rates differently. What is a little known secret, there can be a huge gap in price from one company to the next, and most believe it or not factor your credit rating in on giving you an automotive insurance quote…
For example, in my household we have all the kids old enough to drive, my husband and myself. We have three vehicles insured…One is an old beater that the kids use. Our insurance premium is $90.50 with the company we are insured with per month, this is after we switched from company 2 who was charging us $134.00 a month or we could have insured with company #3 at $146 a month, and all these policies have the exact same coverage. It usually doesn't make a difference as to whether you go through a search site for quotes, the main web site or show up in an agents office, your rate is based on a combination of the type and age of your vehicle, your driving record and your credit score…and the insurers standards.
If you are seeing a descrepancy on three websites all offering a policy with the same insurer, what you have to do is investigate if they are offering the same coverages across the board, and whether they are getting any type of personal information from you to make assessment of you as an individual and not using "the law of averages". If you want the very best possible rate, forget the websites, go to an agent in person.

Every company has its own quote policy that they follow, some other maybe cheaper and some other are too expensive but we must also to consider what type of policy within. By the way, if you interested you may contact autoinsuraceselect.com (below) ask for quote and about their policy.
