You bet your butt it will! My husband got a speeding ticket in Tx, and after he got back to Oh, he sent them a money order, which they claimed they didn't recieve. Anyway, while driving my car, another driver broadsided my car, and when my husband was asked for his license and registration, he cooperated, but the officer then advised him he was driving under suspension. We were both shocked! It took a while to get it straightened out. Make sure that when you pay the ticket, you keep proof of the payment, or it will haunt you later!
Pay the ticket to avoid any trouble, but, it is NOT guaranteed that the points from the speeding ticket will affect your Mass insurance. I've been on both sides of that coin. When I had a NY license, I had received a few speeding tickets in NJ. My insurance company NEVER saw those and it NEVER affected my rates.
Later, I moved to NJ from NY. I turned in my NY license and got a NJ license. On my NY license, I had the points from a speeding ticket. I got the NJ license and hoped the points didn't transfer. A few weeks after getting the NJ license, I went and bought a new car. So, when I was sitting in the insurance agent's office in NJ and getting the insurance for my new car, she said "Let me check your driving record." I thought she would see the ticket in NY from a few months before. Drumroll…… nope, the points didn't transfer, my license was clean.
