Car insurance is "forced" on people because if they are not insured, the victim of an accident would then be in the position of paying for someone else's negligence.
If you get hit by a car (and I hope it never happens to you or anyone) i am sure you would be glad the driver was "forced" to have the financial means to cover your expenses.
it is something i would do on my own,but some people who dont care about there things and life in some cases, must be forced to protect the people that have the common sense to take care of there own well being.if someone ran there raggedy p.o.s. into my clean, mantained truck, you better belive they better have a way to pay for the damages, let alone any physical harm to mine or my familys health.its just necessary for those with no common sense!
I think that mandantory insurance is a great idea. If someone hits you, why should you or your insurance have to pay for the damage?
If you want to make it into a communist issue, then go ahead. However, if you hit me, I'm going to be hoping that you have insurance! Otherwise, I'll sue you, that's the American way!
I automatically thought about the seat belt laws that some people think are stupid when I read this. These laws are in place to save the rest of us money when you screw up. Just because YOU don't want to wear a seat belt doesn't mean WE won't pay for it when you crash and get into an accident. The ambulance and police have to be paid. Road crews might be needed, etc. The same can be applied to car insurance. Typically the people who wouldn't buy insurance are the people who wouldn't pay the victims for any damages in an accident. Forcing them to buy it eliminates the crap the rest of us have to deal with. I'm all for it. If you're against it, just buy the minimum amount and deal with it. You're helping out the rest of us.
