A cyst on the scalp would be considered an out-patient surgery in the office I work in. The doctor I work for charges $150, and by law anything removed from a human body has to go to the pathologist. There is a separate charge from the pathologist of $100. So the least you would be charged is $250 and it can go up from there depending on the pathology results. (Sometimes the pathologist can't decide on a diagnosis and sends it for a second opinion)
You might want to have a talk with the dermatologist and tell him/her that you don't have insurance. Sometimes they will give you a reduced price.

My dermatologist charges $120, no matter how many moles she takes off at a setting, so maybe about the same for a cyst?
