  1. it would be much more beneficial to get the insurance because depending on the condition, you're talking hundreds of thousands.

  2. The cost depends on so many variables. My daughter's cord blood transplants (for AML) each cost in excess of $250,000, but luckily we had insurance. I wouldn't recommend going through treatment for AML without insurance unless you had no other choice.
