they say that they should in case of an accident, but in most cases people dont follow this rule. sometimes if an accident occurs they are put on insurance automatically

If you give that person permission to drive your car, it should be covered. Just to be sure, call your insurance agent.

It's MY personal policy that I NEVER lend out my car. If an accident DID happen, it could cause relationship problems. Also, you can never replace a car with what the insurance company pays you if it is totalled. Would you expect your friend to pay the difference, or would you eat it?

  3. been in the same situ. call ins.comp. and let them know that she will be driving it while you are away cuz i got screwed when my mom rear ended a car and my ins wont pay for my car but payed 4 the other cuz i wasnt driving it but my policy covered damage to other property even if i wasnt driving stupid crap i would just check 2 be safe

only if you have no fault ins, and every state has there own ruling on this, as long as the vehicle has liabilty anyone can drive it in cal, but there is a clifhanger the owner of the vehicle can be suied seperatly for damages, and or if a death called third party involvement, it can get harry, best is to read your fine print on your policy
