How do I not get ripped off from the insurance company when I get in a wreck?
Posted on May 02, 2008 under Insurance Information | 8 CommentsI have the repairs paid for by the other driver's insurance co since he ran into my car when I was at the yield sign. I was waiting on a car exiting from the highway at the yield sign. The back of my car is messed up. Since this is my first accident, I don't know how to deal with the insurance company. I just don't want to be taken advantage over.
Since the U.S. dosen't manufacture anything anymore, should we concentrate on exporting insurance policies ?

Posted on May 02, 2008 under Insurance Information | 12 CommentsIs car insurance fair?
Posted on May 02, 2008 under Insurance Information | 16 CommentsLet's say you're financially stable, and a very safe driver. Is it fair to make EVERYONE pay for car insurance? Wouldn't it be more fair to have car insurance companies "hold" your money in case of an accident, then you get your money back if you don't get in an accident by the time you switch companies or are too old to drive? It seems like good drivers are paying for the damage done by bad drivers.
Homeowners Insurance for a Doublewide Mobile Home?
Posted on May 02, 2008 under Insurance Information | 143 CommentsI am in the process of buying a doublewide mobile home on 3.5 acres in the Tallahassee, Florida area and can't find any insurance companies that cover mobile homes. Does anyone know of any? Thanks in advance.
PS I called almost every insurance agent in the Yellow Pages.
State Farm and Allstate will no longer do Mobile Homes. If you already had insurance with them, you are safe. But as of a certain date they stopped taking new applications.
Foremost will insure it but unfortunately we are not selling our first home and this is technically a second home… they will only insure it if it is a first home.
There is a company in Florida called Citizens which is State Run. They had to do this because there are so many doublewides with no one to insure them. They are expensive with crappy coverage… Oh well. Probably gotta go with them.

What to do if I am a young single pregnant woman, who is keeping the baby, who doesn't have insurance?
Posted on May 02, 2008 under Insurance Information | 12 CommentsI am a young single pregnant woman who is a full time student. I still live with my parents while I am in college but I am not able to be on their insurance. I work for a temp agency and do not have an option for benefits. Should I quit my job to try and find something more permanent but less flexible with my school schedule? The babies father isn't going to help because he wants nothing to do with the baby and my parents have graciously allowed me to remain in their home for as long as I need to get on my feet. I need some help in exploring my options. What options do I have?
I was so scared when I found out. The dad said that he would not let me do it alone and then he said that he didn't want to be a dad. When it came down to it I said I am prepared to do this alone, I know it won't be easy and I know that it won't be cheap but you have two options and I will give you until the child is born. 1)You stick around and help, and be a part of the childs life or 2) You give up your parental rights and responsibilities. He said I decide right now, "I don't want to be a dad." Then he called the house and spoke to my mother and my mother told him that I was going to need moral support whether or not I was pregnant. When my mother hung up the phone she just said to me, "Baby you are not in this alone. He accused you of being a liar and he is not someone that you want to help you raise your baby. If you still want to give him the chance go ahead, if not, we are here for you and no matter what…You are not alone in this."
By the way.. I'm 20.
Cheapest car insurance?
Posted on May 02, 2008 under Insurance Information | 12 CommentsI'm 21 and I'll be getting a new car in a week or so. I've been in a few accidents (mostly little fender-benders that we didn't claim on the insurance) but about a month ago I flipped my car. I'm wondering what kind of car will be the cheapest to insure? What kind of coverage should I get? And what insurance companies should I look into?
What kinds of cars are cheapest to insure? Make and model, please?
