Cheapest insurance company for 1st time male driver under 25 years?
Posted on Jun 14, 2008 under Insurance Information |I have a male friend who is 23 years old. Will be buying a car (four door/blue) but since he's a first time driver, the rates will be very high. However, is there an insurance company out there that is more reasonable? We're in Maryland. Any references?

If he is just getting started his best bet is to get added on someone elses policy for a year if possible. The only way you could do this is if the car being purchased is jointly titled. One of the main reasons his own policy will be so expensive is insurance companies look at having prior insurance. Most companies consider having a lapse in coverage the same as never having it before. I would call several agents for quotes if he absolutely needs to have his own policy - http://www.findlocalinsurance.com
