Can I get arested 4 driving my car w/my name on the insurance if my dad calls the car(undr his nam) in stolen?

my name is on the insurance
can I be arrested if my name is on the insurance and he calls it in stolen because he is mad that I left the state with it?
I live in SC and in dire need to travel to PA
I only have enough money to buy gas for my own car and no funds to get a rental or train or bus ride.

I think he can do that. Afterall, it is his car, bottom line.
One other thing. When I worked for an ins. company, the rule was, if there was an accident, and the driver DID NOT have permission to take the car, there WAS NO COVERAGE.

Yes if the car is in his name he can call the police and report it stolen. It really doesnt matter about the insurance. Although if the car is in his name he must carry insurance in his name. Yes you can be arrested for grand theft auto.Also, if you got in an accident and the car wasnt insured in his name, he could be liable for the damages. So why don't you just rent a car and not messing with this trouble.Then I suggest if you don't have the money for the trip itself you should put the trip off because if your Dad calls the police about the car being stolen,that will be alot more expensive especially if you go to jail. Plus how are you going to afford things when you get there? Maybe you can ask your Dad for the money to take a train if he doesnt want you to take the car. As a compromise.
