  1. You must Pass an Insurance Adjuster Examination by the designated Testing facility for Texas. Once the exam is passed you need an insurer to sponsor your license unless you are going to be an independent adjuster.

Forms and Applications are available at the Texas Department of Insurance Web Site under Agents Licensing.

  2. CowboyBill Says:

You must first meet certain critera:
    1) you must drink large quantities of alcohol.
    2) you must have the patience of a rock
    3) you must be able to endure idiot policy holders, idiot bosses, theives, crooks and at the very bottom — lawyers.
    4) you need to be a little crazy (because you will certainly be a LOT crazy in a few years).
    5) you must be able to survive in a small cube for ten hours a day with one hand typing on a keyboard, one hand holding a phone to your head listening to some angry person scream at you and still carry on a conversation with three people at your desk.
Other than that it's a snap.
