What's the best way to handle car insurance, for an American on temporary assignment in Canada?
Posted on Jun 29, 2008 under Insurance Information | 1 CommentI am an American citizen and will be working in Canada for 1-2 years. My car is registered and (currently) insured in Florida. I'm not sure if there's anything special I should do, and whether my car insurance company will take care of me, should I have an accident in Canada.

Posted on Jun 29, 2008 under Insurance Information | 19 CommentsShe actually stole my car and rearended somebody on the highway. She doesn't have insurance or much money. I'm not pressing charges, but I need a car! I've decided to put the claim on my insurance policy but when all is said and done I will have a little more than $1500 for a down payment on a new car. Not to mention my insurance rate is going to sky rocket. I've never been in a wreck. So my question for you guys is, what is a fair amount for my roommate to pay me? The car cost me $11,000 brand new. I owed $2500 on it when she wrecked it. My insurance company is going to pay me $4500 after the deductable, which is $500. That leaves me $1500, AND I can't get a loan on another car with nearly as good an interest rate because my mom co-signed on my last loan and now she can't. Please help!
