To get breast reduction surgery, what are the steps I need to take so that my insurance will pay for it?
Posted on Jul 08, 2008 under Insurance Information |I have heard that they won't pay for it unless you demonstrate specific health problems. Has anyone in here had it or knows what I need to do?What are the steps I need to take to have the surgery?
Um yes I know that and thats why I asked what are the steps.Like are there certain restrictions or certain things I have to proove before the insurance will pay.

I don't think there is any insurance that will pay for it unless it is medically nessessary.
Ask your primary care physician.

My cousin had this and I carted her to all the appointments so I know this is what worked for her:
Primary care doctor says, yep, they're too big, go to Chiropractor.
Chiropractor says, yep, they're too big, go to orthopedic doctor (bone, posture doctor)
Ortho doctor says yep, they're too big, hurting your back and shoulders, might even compress the lungs (really), they got to go.
Then he sends you to whomever for the surgury and consultaion. This way it is fully documented by many practioners that they are a health problem.
