If you have full coverage,take a ditch does your insurance company need a police report to pay your car off?

If you are in a one car accident and wasn't injured,does your insurance agent require you to get a police report in order to total it out?Or can you just call a wrecker and have your car towed and call your insurance agent to send an adjuster?

Not a requirement to have a police report, but it depends on severity of damage. If the adj requests that you get one, you should be able to file a self report at the pd, or online depending on your city, and state.
