Ticket points & insurance premium law in California?
Posted on Jan 06, 2009 under Insurance Information |I read somewhere online that, in California, if you have just one traffic ticket point on your record, it is illegal for insurance companies to raise your premium. Is that correct?

Sorry, that is not correct. In California one ticket may not cause a big hike in rates, but you may see an increase due to a ticket surcharge. If you get another ticket within a 3 year period you may loose your good driver discount that could increase your premium by 20%.
